Dr. Fernando Campos, EWDD Assistant General Manager of Financial Management, Administrative Services, and Information Technology Assistant General Manager, Economic and Workforce Development Department, Dr. Fernando Campos is responsible for managing and directing the operations and activities of the department's Financial Management, Administrative Services, and Information Technology Divisions.

Prior to this role, Dr. Campos was the department’s Chief Officer of its Financial Management Operations. Dr. Campos has an extensive career in both the public and private sectors. From 2015 to 2024, Dr. Campos served as the Director of Public Works, Executive Officer, and 8th chartered Secretary of Public Works with oversight of its Finance and Administration, Accounting, Personnel, Commission Office, Community Beautification, Forest Management, Film/TV, Petroleum, Information Technology, Risk/Emergency Management, and other functions. Dr. Campos led a gamut of Public Works initiatives to improve the quality of life, public safety/health, and environment while being responsible for department-wide fiscal transactions of $1.8 billion annually. Dr. Campos also managed the affairs of and advised the Board of Public Works on strategic, financial, and operational matters, handled all capital infrastructure bids, and enforced department-wide orders, rules, and regulations.

In May 2012, Dr. Campos was appointed as the City of Los Angeles’ first Inspector General for City-wide Collections and Revenue Efficiency, responsible for a City-wide Collection Reform and administered the City’s Disaster Assistance Trust Fund and Disaster Grants portfolio. Prior to his Inspector General role, Dr. Campos was the Director of Grants Administration at the Port of Los Angeles, managing a $500 million large-scale Grants Program ranging from public safety and transportation to energy and environmental protection/conservation. Before this, Dr. Campos was assigned to the City's Deferred Compensation Plan, Los Angeles World Airports marketing, and sworn officer Deferred Retirement Option Plan. He also worked at financial institutions for 10 yrs.

Dr. Campos received his Doctor of Public Administration from the University of La Verne, Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance/Economics from California State University, Los Angeles, and designation as a Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources (PSHRA). He has published in the United States and Brazil.
