The EWDD Rapid Response team can help through the transition process by providing virtual orientations that will guide you through all the available resources, including how to apply for Unemployment Insurance (UI) through CA EDD and health insurance.

Job Loss Orientations for Workers Affected by the Wildfires
EWDD, in collaboration with LA County DEO, announce virtual and in-person orientations to assist anyone who lost their employment due to the LA wildfires. The services will cover job opportunities, unemployment benefits, health care, training and more.
Virtual Job Loss Orientations
Virtual orientations will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00am and 6:00pm, in English or Spanish.In-Person Job Loss Orientations

Regular Virtual Orientations (not wildfire related)
The free virtual orientations are led by EWDD’s Rapid Response Team, which is trained to support employees and businesses through any transition process. The team will demonstrate the Unemployment Insurance Benefits process and other resources that support transitioning into a job as quickly as possible.
Orientations will not be scheduled on legal holidays as observed by the City of Los Angeles. RSVP below to register for a session in English or Spanish:

After registration, you will receive a phone number and access code to a virtual conference room. Prior to your training, please download the Job Resources Presentation to help you follow along with the virtual orientation.

All services are FREE and are mandated by the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) legislation. EWDD’s Rapid Response Team will continue working with individual companies to set up sessions specifically for them/their employees.
