On May 29th, EWDD, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, and host Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE), all attended the ProcureLA Summit event. The Procure LA program supports businesses interested in obtaining contracts with the City of LA. Through this program, small businesses can access workshops, conferences, 1-1 counseling, and free support services.
Over 700 attendees had the opportunity to engage with over 30 government agencies and prime contractors, and benefit from on-site support by the ProcureLA team for vendor portal registration, certification assistance, and capability statement development. Hundreds of small and diverse suppliers participated as well. There were three live panel discussions on upcoming capital projects with the LA Department of Water and Power, LA World Airports, and the Port of LA.
The summit marked the beginning of a robust plan to support LA's small businesses in obtaining contracts for the numerous upcoming sporting events, including the 2026 World Cup, 2027 Super Bowl LXI, and the 2028 Olympics.
