San Fernando Valley WorkSource Center with blossoming cherry tree, and California and United States Flags
The California Employment Development Department (EDD) recently awarded EWDD a $1.8 million National Dislocated Worker Grant (NDWG) to provide temporary employment opportunities for workers whose livelihoods were impacted by COVID-19.

With many Angelenos experiencing mass layoffs and reduced hours, this additional funding will enable EWDD’s 16 WorkSource Centers to provide emergency support, along with job training and career services, EWDD staff said.

Job opportunities will include clean-up and sanitation of public spaces, providing humanitarian aid, along with job placement into in-demand occupations, especially those where there’s an increased need due to the impact of COVID-19, according to EDD.

If you have been impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, EWDD wants to help. Many residents of the City of Los Angeles have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. Many are faced with job loss or are struggling to keep their businesses operational. Even as all Californians are asked to limit outside activities beyond what is absolutely necessary, the City of LA and EWDD are diligently working to provide crucial services and programs.
