City of LA Small Business Emergency Microloan Program

Since the launch of the Small Business Emergency Microloan program, hundreds of thousands of individuals have viewed the loan’s details on LAMayor.org/loan.

EWDD Management Analyst Roy works in the department’s Economic Development Division which is charged with reviewing and processing the loan applications. The team has been working non-stop to provide much needed funding to small businesses that have been economically impacted by COVID-19.

In his day-to-day role, Roy works on the design workflow and implementation of the online portal where prospective applicants develop and submit their loan applications.

“While the crisis is dangerous for our health, it has also created an unprecedented economic impact for many small business owners,” Roy said. “It is important to find the most efficient way to disburse these funds to those in need quickly.”

If you have been impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, EWDD wants to help. Many residents of the City of Los Angeles have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. Many are faced with job loss or are struggling to keep their businesses operational.
