Downtown Taco Company food truck
The Harbor-Watts BusinessSource Center has provided long-term assistance to Pablo Romero, owner and operator of Downtown Taco, located in the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles.

Pablo first came to the Harbor-Watts BusinessSource as a taco street vendor working throughout the streets of Los Angeles. After an initial assessment, the BusinessSource provided Pablo with training in permits and licensing, business entities and access to capital.

In 2016, the BusinessSource Center assisted Pablo for his first business loan application, which enabled him to purchase a food truck and expand to an additional kitchen facility to keep up with the demand of his growing catering business.

The center also provided assistance in pricing and profit analysis which resulted in increasing his revenue.

Pablo recently applied for a $200,000 Small Business Administration (SBA) loan, with assistance from the BusinessSource Center, and was approved in August 2019. The expansion loan will cover improvements to his existing facility along, with opening a new restaurant, Little Weasel, in early 2020.

The loan will also help generate 15 to 20 new jobs.
