Para Los Niños (PLN) students Angeline Moran and Alexa Flores were selected to participate in the 2018 UnidosUS Escalera Summit in Washington, DC, a national program designed to provide support to Latino students who may be the first in their families to attend college.

Angeline and Alexa, both 17, also attended the UnidosUS Leaders in Action Summit, a two-day advocacy training for aspiring activists and community leaders that culminates in a visit with members of Congress at Capitol Hill.

In addition, the students attended the UnidosUS Capital Awards gala, which honors activists, public figures and elected officials that advocate for the Latino community.

Angeline and Alexa participated in leadership development sessions, networking opportunities and enrichment activities at the events, which were held in Washington, DC from March 20 to March 23, 2018.
